A small gaming corner works when four things are handled: light that doesn’t glare off the screen, a desk surface that stays put, a place to hang the headset, and cables you can’t see. None of it needs a big room or a big budget, and most of it installs in a few minutes.
House Standard 14: Every cable has an address. No cable lives on the floor.
Light the desk, not the screen
Protocol’s pick: Quntis Monitor Light Bar. Sits on top of the monitor and lights the desk in front of it without throwing glare onto the screen. It takes up zero desk space, which in a small corner is the whole point.
A desk surface that stays put
Protocol’s pick: XXL Desk Mat, 35.4″ x 15.7″. One mat under the keyboard and mouse together, so nothing slides and the desk looks finished.
Lag’s pick: Razer Gigantus V2 XXL. Thicker, with a non-slip base, from a gaming brand. Also big enough to nap on. Not that I have.
Somewhere for the headset
Lag’s pick: EURPMASK Rotating Clamp-On Headphone Holder. Clamps to the desk edge and swings out of the way. One hook, headset off the floor, back to the game.
Hide the cables
Protocol’s pick: Litwaro Under-Desk Cable Tray. A metal tray that mounts under the desk without drilling and holds the power strip and every cord that would otherwise dangle. The desk above looks like nothing is plugged in. Everything is plugged in. Rated Exemplary.
Lag’s pick: Naeety Cable Management Box, 2-pack. A box you drop the power strip into. No installing. Everything still works. Protocol stops sighing.
House Log
PROTOCOL: I have routed every cable through the under-desk tray.
LAG: What about the controller charger?
PROTOCOL: Also routed.
LAG: Then where am I supposed to trip?
Everything in its place.
